Indonesia was one among 56 new countries in which the company introduced the iTunes Store, Apple wrote in a press release issued on its website. Other countries include India, Russia, South Africa and Turkey.
Besides songs, Apple also offers movies to purchase and download from the store. iTunes Store purchases required a valid credit card with a billing address in the country, the company said.
A song’s average price ranged from Rp 5,000 (52 US cents) to Rp 7,000, while that of an album was between Rp 45,000 and Rp 70,000. In addition, a high-definition movie, such as The Raid, will cost up to Rp 149,000 to download.
