Father & Son Holiday Project: Leather Sling Bag or should I say Backpack

8/7/2014

For almost 3 years I've been using my own personal leather bag designs daily and have found a lot of ways to improve them.
So this is my latest design together with my son during his holiday.

It was a sling bag at the first design process, while finalizing, Matthew insisting to have 2 straps so it can be used as a backpack also. Total 3 days in the making process from pattern design, leather cutting, stitching and finalizing the bag.

Enjoy the photos as I enjoyed making the bag and the fun we had together.

Satchel #2.02

I thought I should make some changes to the original Satchel #2, and here is the new one.

There are some items we can carry in this leather satchel, while notebook is out of my question. Yes, it is a dilemma: you want a small bag that will hold more than just your iPad or your ten inch tablet. You also want to carry your power adapter, your sync cables, pens, name cards and some small things. You also want an adjustable strap and a satchel that can withstand the rigors of being thrown in the overhead compartment and being tossed in the backseat of the car or you can carry while cycling. For versatility, I’ve added a metal hook on the side of the satchel so you can adjust the strap to convert to a sort-of messenger back for the times you’d rather wear it on your back than over your shoulder. Please take note this satchel come with an adjustable shoulder strap, riveted button to secure the bag, two top flaps, and an inside back pocket for iPad/tablet.

Approximate size 21cm x 26cm x 6cm.
Handmade in the Jakarta, Indonesia.
